Request 8156.  EXTREME DOG SPORTS AND CRAZY IMAGES
DOGS/SPORTS--would like to find images of dogs doing things like surfing, wind surfing, water skiing, extreme frisbee catch, climbing things (ladders, trees or other things they wouldn't normally climb) Obviously some of these shots are going to have to involve people, but want the focus to be mainly on the dog. These images should not be digitally altered except for basic color corrections.

PHOTO FOOLERY--this is where the digital altering comes in. Want totally extreme, bizarre, humorous images here. Things like two squirrels riding a motorcycle or a hamster hang gliding. Whatever--am looking for the complete unexpected here.
In either case, (dogs/sports OR photo foolery) I am also looking for cover possibilities. For the cover, it would have to be an instant read, bright, colorful, fun, high energy and must have eye contact. So what ever the dog, cat, squirrel, hamster of doing, it has to be looking at the camera.

Thanks for any and all submissions!

Request 8155.  ANIMAL SHOTS - FROM CANON DIGITAL SLR

A low-res version of the image will be included on the cover mounted disc that accompanies the magazine to be used as a source file. Our readers are encouraged to follow the tutorials and video lessons using these images.

Images will be altered using Photoshop or ACR, however the emphasis is on making a good picture better rather than salvaging a bad one, so we require excellent compositions.

Request 8152.  PARENT AND CHILD LOOKING AT NUDE STATUE
I need a photo of a parent and young child (age 2 to 8 or so) looking at a statue or other work of art that portrays a naked man or woman. This is for a textbook on human sexuality, in a text box about talking with children about sex. The caption for the photo will read, 'There are many opportunities to teach one's child about sex and reproduction.' The statue should be in a public place (outdoors or in a museum) to emphasize that this shows a 'teachable moment'--an opportunity that was not necessarily planned in advance. The parent and child can have their back to the camera, and in fact it might be preferable if they do.

Notes on Budget:  Fee will include use in two versions ('full' and 'Elements') of the textbook, total print run around 15,000 copies, as well as on a CD for professors so that they may use figures from the textbook in their lectures.

Request 8095.  FARMERS TALKING TO ADVISER
As this is for a pop up display the photo needs to be as high a resolution as possible as it will be blown up.

I'm looking for farmers talking to each other, or a farmer talking to an adviser or a consultant. This is because our organisation is about advising our members. Ideally it shouldn't be out in the middle of a field, as this makes it look too much like an agronomist, so people leaning against a gate would be good, however the background of the photo is also important. It musn't be infront of a really nice house as our members are not usually wealthy.

It also needs to look as though it is in the UK and it shouldn't appear to be too dated. I don't want really old farmers. So ideally they shouldn't really be any older than 50's.

Budget:

  Exploring Science for year 9
I am looking for a good colour photo of the Grand Anicut dam - also called the Kallanai dam in Tamil Nadu in India. Preferably an aerial shot. Parts of it have been modernised, I think. It would really be good to get a photo of the older parts. The dam is believed to be the oldest dam still in use. This is required for a school student text book and so the detail is important - it does not need to be any arty shot showing a sunset or other!
