Syrian Refugees In Turkey

Syrian families are crossing the border back to their homes in Syria. This is a news story happening right now!

The Syrians say it is safer now because the FSA (Free Syrian Army), supported by the Turkish army in operation Euphrates Shield, have expelled Daesh / ISIL from the nearest towns to the border.

They expect that they will probably not be allowed back to Turkey, but they prefer to return home regardless.

The photographs were taken at Karkamis, a border checkpoint on the road to Jarabulus.

Here are also photos from the largest Syrian refugee camp at Suruç (capacity 25,000).

Please get in touch if you wish to negotiate rates for photographs or eye-witness reports. We also offer stories about life in a Syrian refugee camp in Turkey. Contact Julie Woodhouse with your requirements.
