Richard Peterson (Colorado, USA) is exhibiting some of his unusual punk-art-style portraits in a major show at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. The exhibition is part of a series of shows and events, including a lecture by Peterson at the museum in early June. The museum show is part of a series of gallery and music events around Denver depicting Peterson as a key player in the late 1970s punk-art movement of San Francisco, and many of the images show old-school music icons such as the Talking Heads, Iggy Pop and Devo. Peterson also created the prints currently in the museum by legendary California artist Bruce Conner. For more information: - or to book Peterson for evocative portraiture or fashion, or to purchase limited edition prints, visit his rep's site:
Additional shows by Peterson open at Art Pad in San Francisco May 17-20, and at the Carmen Wiedenhoeft Gallery in Denver June 1.

John Peltier is hard at work preparing to leave his ten-year career as a military pilot in order to sail his 31-foot sailboat around South America. With an already extensive collection of travel stock photography, a multi-year voyage around the South American continent by sailboat will surely add some amazing photos to the collection.

John's photographs of landscapes and historical cultural areas focus on the natural conservation and historical preservation of these subjects. Once under sail, he will add to his style photos about living a free & simple life on a sailboat. Photo collections include hiking through Scotland's West Highland Way, conservation & protected areas in North Carolina, and historic sites in Europe. His photographs have been used in conservation publications, in multiple photography exhibits, and selected as one of Wikipedia's Top 25 Photos of 2010.

John's website, on which he also writes, has photographs easily arranged for browsing on an interactive map. Once he starts his sailing voyage, another interactive map will provide links to photographs and writings as he sails from North Carolina, down the West Indies, makes landfall in Guyana and around South America to the Patagonia region, up to Easter Island and the Galapagos and finally landing in California. Follow his progress on his webpage!
