The Ganaden Image Archive is currently re-organizing and promoting a fascinating collection of archival images pre-1980 that includes street scenes from a Birmingham neglected city area, authors, Stratford-Upon Avon RSC actors including a young Judi Dench with her late husband Michael Williams and Frenchesca Annis. Another interesting set of images is that of ex-president Richard Nixon when he spoke at the Oxford Union to promote his autobiography publication.

Most of these images can be found by either the subject name or just by entering "archival image" in the Search box on either Photographers Direct site of the Ganaden Image Archive site at

Gunnar Kullenberg of EuroStyle Graphics, Los Angeles, California, took advantage of "Navy Days" during the last week of July, 2011, in the Port of Los Angeles, San Pedro, to get some very high quality panoramic views of the nuclear-powered Nimitz class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln as it was docked near Cabrillo Beach.

It was the first time in twenty years, such a ship had visited the Port of Los Angeles, the biggest and busiest port in the US, and thus the occasion provided a rare opportunity to capture such an exotic beast in this Southern California harbor area.

It can also be noted that it was on this particular ship, that president George W. Bush made his famous appearance after the invasion of Iraq, when the crew had placed the banner stating "Mission Accomplished" behind the president.
Three files of over 10k pixels wide resulted from this event, with additional images of slightly smaller sizes also produced. The finest lens of its kind was used for these files and no interpolation was involved, allowing for high quality, large prints.
