Ron Levy just returned from shooting Alaska's Iditarod dogsled race from Anchorage to Nome. He has been photographing the 1000 mile race through the frozen north since the mid-1980s for editorial, commercial and local clients. Though based in Alaska, he has photographed on all continents, and his images have been published and exhibited by major corporations and agencies worldwide.

This year Mr. Levy has also produced a poster for the American Cancer Society depicting famous Iditarod mushers' hands, showing the bumps, bruises and missing fingers from a life of hard knocks. Sales of the poster are donated to the American Cancer Society, with the tag line "Give a Hand to Cancer Research -- if these hands can make it through to the other side, so can you...". See more at: www.ronlevyphoto.com

Mr. Levy also helps NGOs and agencies working on issues of human or animal care around the world. In addition to the American Cancer Society, he has helped the International Campaign for Tibet, ASPCA, MSPCA, WWF, Heifer, SEVA and others. View other media projects on his website, including a multimedia show entitled "You Have the Power" produced for schools.

Majority World™, the socially responsible photographers agency, announces major expansion . . . .

Inspiring images, responsibly sourced.

MAJORITY WORLD™ is a picture agency with a difference. It promotes the work of talented local photographers of the majority world – Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East - enabling them to gain a fairer share of the global image market. Their work is often overlooked through inadequate access to the market, or when organisations fly in western photographers for assignments rather than choosing to use and nurture local talent. It also increasingly reveals the unique insider perspective that comes from local photographers’ images and stories.

MAJORITY WORLD™ is pleased to announce that it has secured vital new start up investment from Stichting DOEN in the Netherlands, as well as from two of its founder directors. As a result of this vote of confidence, MAJORITY WORLD™ can now embark on an ambitious expansion plan. A full time team is under recruitment to provide the expertise and dynamism needed to boost growth, which in turn will translate directly into increasing commission payments to majority world economies.

In early spring, Roland Bouvier spent 6 hours in the Frioul Islands out of Marseilles (Provence, France)on a lovely clear day.

The result is there with breathtaking views of the old city,Chateau d'If and Island of Pomègues,he was exhausted after walking for miles with heavy material, but he believes it was worth it.

A week before,he was in Vaucluse amidst cherry blossoms, just have a look. In 2013, Marseilles will be the European Capital of Culture, so please make your choice of striking images from that location.

Daffodils abound, reminding everybody of Wordsworth's "A Host of Golden Daffodils" In Dumfries, South West Scotland, John found a public artwork that illustrates the poem beautifully.
