John Kelly has a great passion for night-time photography. When dusk falls, the light changes, the country and its landmarks take on a completely different perspective as streetlights are switched on. John already has a good selection of night-time images of Scotland and he is currently expanding his portfolio, actively looking for new events to cover and projects in this field to work on.

The picture shown here is featured in the Scots Magazine Calendar for 2009. Prints of this image and others are available directly from John’s website via selected print providers. You will also find a comprehensive portfolio of nature, wildlife and landscape images.

If you are the owner of a property or business in the UK and would like to have it photographed by day or by night for a brochure or advertising and marketing purposes please get in touch with John to see how he can help you.

Following a recent photo shoot in Kyoto, various collections by John Lander have been updated including:
Japanese Gardens and Japanese Markets. The main purpose of this shoot was the search for the many hidden Japanese gardens in Kyoto.

Last month's projects took place in Vietnan, especially the Mekong Delta, the Reunification Express train journey from Hanoi to Saigon, plus Hoi An and Sapa.

John's website host has been moved to PhotoShelter from DRR though the domain has remained the same: www.asiapacificimages.net without any changes. He will spend the month of January in Nepal, and February in Burma and Thailand. In the event that you require images of these places, please ask and if at all possible he may be able to arrange custom shoots.

Specializing in panoramic wilderness photography and adventure photography, Johnathan Esper has a passion for exploring our world's wilderness areas. Johnathan has photographic collections of panoramic landscapes and rural scenes from New Zealand, Patagonia, and the Adirondack Park in the United States. He also specializes in high-altitude mountaineering photography, and has collections featuring mountaineering life and panoramic mountain environments on Mt. McKinley and Aconcagua, the highest peaks in North and South America. Larger photos help a viewer feel more in the image, and image resolutions often exceed 20,000 pixels on the longer side.

Johnathan is available for commission photography that will represent an excellent value to you, simply because Johnathan always returns with a plethora of images, regardless of the conditions, and he wild camps and keeps costs close to zero when in rural and wilderness areas (he has even bought and sold cars instead of renting to reduce costs on previous long-term foreign trips). Upcoming trips in 2009 include a month exploring Hawaii, and a 4 month photographic and hiking/mountaineering exploration in Iceland.

Johnathan's photography can be seen here and on his website www.wildernessphotographs.com.

Nature photographer Jurgen Otto has now uploaded 120 images of the rarely photographed but very interesting and attractive Australian "peacock spider" (Maratus volans). Just type "peacock spider" or "Maratus volans" into the PD search field to view them. The male of this species has brightly coloured flaps on its abdomen, which are extended during the courtship dance to impress a female.

This breathtaking display, lasting only a few seconds, appears not to have been photographed before and none of his images of this spider have yet appeared anywhere in print. If you are planning to publish on spiders, want to be the first to print an image of a uniquely Australian animal, or are simply after something "freaky", here is your chance. Some info on this spider illustrated with some of Jurgen's images can also be viewed at:

PictureNature is a photo agency specialised in nature and human interaction with the environment and started its stock library in 2007. They supply rights-managed and rights-ready images of flowers, plants, landscapes, seascapes, abstracts in nature, wildlife, outdoor pursuits, architecture and (historic) buildings from around the world.

Although owner and photographer Fenneke Wolters-Sinke is busy managing the business and selecting high quality and artistic images from about 40 contributors, she always takes her camera everywhere she goes to express her own creativity and supply to her library. A recent trip to Gran Canaria gave her the opportunity to capture the stunning volcanic rock formations. In the new year she will be ski mountaineering in Austria, canoeing in Scotland and travelling to Marrakech.

PictureNature will be exhibiting in February during the Publishing Expo in London and in May during the BAPLA Picture Buyers Fair. Picture buyers are very welcome to visit their dedicated staff. Contact PictureNature to make an appointment and discuss your image requirements. They hope to seeing you there!
