Description: The 1792 Siege of Seringapatam (Srirangapatna), a town in Mandya district of the Indian state of Karnataka, ended when Tipu Sultan agreed to the severe terms of the Treaty of Seringapatam. He agreed to surrender two of his sons, aged seven and eleven, as hostages of war, and were delivered with great pomp and circumstance to the care of Lord Charles Cornwallis, Governor General and commander-in-chief in India, on behalf of the British East India Company.
