The Bale Mts are reaching heights of over 4300 m and are of volcanic origin . The landforms are comprised of afro alpine plateaus . escarpments and peaks showing signs of glaciation . Bale is well known for its biodiversity with lots of endemic species and is considered the largest alpine landscape in Africa .
