I am a mature professional photographer, recently qualified with an HND but with many years photographic experience behind me. I have won a BIPP Silver award in the Student entry in 2006.

I cover social events, weddings, proms, graduations and portraits as well as commercial work having recently worked for two restaurants covering both interiors and food shots for web pages and publicity materials.

As part of ABC Photography I work with another two professional photographers covering a wide range of commercial projects. We have recently had our work showcased in an exhibition in Glasgow's Mussel Inn Restaurant/Gallery

I breed and train Shetland ponies to be ridden or driven in their native home, Shetland, Britain's most northerly outpost. Although fairly new to professional photography, I have a very good eye for seeing the unique characteristics in an animal. The patterns of nature intrigue me and I enjoy seeing this through my camera lens.

Skills - I have a good camera, a good eye and a Mac!

Experience - My work is used worldwide in a variety of publications. I have had books and calendars published.

My main aim is to promote the Shetland pony in its natural environment to anyone who likes their unique and cheeky character.

I also enjoy taking my camera and using it to make folk smile by showing them the results of my work of the nature around them.

With more than 30 years experience, one who indulges in their career, does it well in my view, always striving for that one shot better than the last.

Specialities are everyday sights to which you may not normally pay much attention, along with Scottish West Highlands and Islands scenery, nautical and vehicular subjects and night photography.

Having cut my teeth in high speed action photography such as World Rally Championship and international snowboarding events I have diversified in recent years to general commercial stock and informal portraiture.

I am used to travelling extensively for assignments and have found the traditional skills of action photography such as catching the moment, panning, motion blur and slow synch flash to have served me well in my other wider work. This has manifested itself in some of my more contemporary portraiture. I also enjoy taking images that tell the story of an event or occassion in the details as well as the more general 'obvious' shots.
